Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Chemical protective eyewear with side shields is required for all personnel present in the wet lab. Safety goggles are available in acrylic holders just outside the wet lab entrance, whether you are working in the lab at sector 9 or sector 20.

Impervious gloves are required when working with chemicals. Nitrile gloves are available in various sizes in acrylic holders on either side of the two main work stations near the fume hood. The gloves you use must be resistant to the chemicals you are working with. Check with a member of the Spectroscopy Group staff if you are unsure.

Chemical Eye Wash and Shower   A chemical shower and eye wash station is readily available in the wet lab in case of chemical exposure. Make note of its location before you start work.
